The ParkZone F4U Corsair is one of the most iconic of American fighters of WWII, the F4U Corsair was a thoroughbred renowned for its ability to out climb, outrun or outfight any enemy in its day. Designed by Chance Vought, The carrier borne Corsair was lovingly referred to by American troops as the “Sweetheart of Okinawa" and as the “Whistling Death” by the Japanese. Its characteristic inverted gull wing allowed for the huge propeller to clear the deck with its short, stout landing gear. The F4U Corsair is also recognised as the first Naval aircraft to have landing gear retract flush into the wing behind panels for improved aerodynamics, and it was the first fighter to exceed speeds of 400 mph! The ParkZone F4U Corsair comes factory painted in an authentic Navy tri-colour scheme. Other features include a painted pilot figure, accurate panel lines and rivet detail, an aluminium “dome” spinner, dummy radial engine, painted nose art on the cowling and two propellers (three-bladed propeller for scale and a two-bladed propeller for increased thrust). The ParkZone F4U Corsair features Spektrum™ DSM2 radio technology, a ParkZone 480 Brushless outrunner motor and Li-Po battery for ultimate control, exceptional performance and increased flight time. The fixed landing gear and steerable tail wheel allow for smooth takeoffs and landings. |
