It all started with a Super Cub around Christmas time. Although it has certainly been great fun my success has been interlaced with a few good flights but a few more crashes. One specific crash happened when I tried to fly under a football goal! Unsurprisingly I misjudged and removed the tail at full throttle. The 8ft dive into the ground didn't do the nose any good either. Undeterred and in true Squadron Leader fashion I felt I was ready for a bigger challenge…the ParkZone Spitfire Mk IIB with the added power of upgrade battery (Yes…I know, where's the logic?). The first launch and flight was awesome even by my standards. A roll, numerous loops and back down in one piece. |
Now for the upgraded super fast battery! All was going so well…stunning speed and what a noise on fly by. With one last circuit in mind I lose the plot and the Spit - 40ft up a sodding tree! Off home for climbing boots and the biggest stick I can find. After a VERY scary climb I tickle the unmarked Spit out the tree. All was looking good until it hits the last branch and now I have a Stuka wing profile - just great! Nature can be so cruel. I'm on the site now figuring out which bits I need. Maybe I should just go for the P-51D Mustang. Maybe it's time you guys did a Kamikaze Zero! Thanks for the great fun. I need to buy shares in Squadron Leader. Kind regards, Scott |
