What started out as beautiful day in a sleepy Kent village, ended in what can only be described as total carnage. David Rogers admitted he had failed to keep tabs on his orientation after being blinded by the sun. What he thought was up, was now down, and left, was now right. In a moment of sheer panic David fought to gain some semblance of control but in moments, his Spit was inverted at full boost heading for the compacted, concrete-like cricket wicket. The resultant impact was inevitable. We at Squadron Leader tip our flight caps to this brave pilot that dared to take on gravity and a cricket wicket... and lose. Unfortunately for David, he didn’t buy his Spitfire from Squadron Leader therefore is not eligible for the free plane / replacement parts of his plane. There is no mistake, you would have easily been a winner David. Howzatt!!! |
