'The Fallen' - Kevin Robin’s ‘Spitfire Graveyard’ - Various Dates

Here at Squadron Leader, we know only too well that part and parcel of flying your RC plane is crashing them... However, when we received Mr. Robins’ ParkZone Spitfire Mk IIB crash pictures, we were a little taken back as to how just one person can single handily destroy 3 of them over the space of 2 months! With the initial shock lasting just 2 seconds, we then proceeded to roll about on the floor with laughter – some of these pictures are classics and will go down in Squadron Leader history. Kevin, if you were a Spitfire pilot in WW2, we would all be speaking German! Brilliant stuff.

Spit #1 - Few war wounds but nothing serious

 Spit #1 - After new wings, crash #2.

 Spit #2 - "...Bang!..."

 Spit #3 - Said running to wreckage: ‘It may be ok…’

 Spit #3 - "Repaired again... Now Focked!"

Here follows exert from Kevin Robin's email when he submitted his photos to SquadronLeader.co.uk:

"And a pic of the newly built Blue Peter Mark I… Despite the tail being snapped off, the internals destroyed, the engine ripped off and the wings snapped in two, I managed to rebuild it!! It's been constructed using a plastic cap off a bottle of floor cleaner to provide a solid firewall and protection for the engine area... the rest of it is duck tape! I hope it flies, because it will be a lot more durable."

Hybrid Spitfire #4 created from all 3 wreckages. Amazing engineering.
